A classic spirit

We went back in our archives and studied founder Simon Rutte’s old notes and methods to fashion this dry gin.

Our aim was to create an exceptional spirit, which makes for a thirst-quenching gin & tonic or a classic cocktail, that is effortless yet complex.

Tasting Notes

  • Botanicals

    Distilled with juniper, coriander, angelica, orris root, cassia, bitter & sweet orange peel and fennel.

  • NOSE

    Black pepper with tropical notes of pineapple, hibiscus and citrus, underlying juniper.

  • PALATE

    Light citrus grapefruit, some hints of fennel and juniper, with mild forest angelica.

  • Finish

    Clean, light and dry with some astringency.

Ingredients

  • 2 pts. Rutte Dry Gin

  • 1 pt. fresh lemon juice

  • ⅔ pt. simple syrup

  • 9 basil leaves (one for garnish)

Process

Add all ingredients with ice, shake vigorously and double strain over fresh ice into a rocks glass.

CELERY BASIL SMASH

For a twist on the recipe, substitute Rutte Dry Gin with Rutte Celery Gin.
